The Beatitudes

God laid it upon me to fast from social media and food to draw me closer to him and to hear his message to share with you. I have never attempted fasting nor thought it would have a meaningful effect. Following God’s commands can be difficult but the lessons he gives prepares you for greater things or valleys you may have to travel through. This message is so important for those who are actively seeking Jesus, God and our beautiful Holy Spirit. And let me tell you the Holy Spirit rocks! I was lead to fast first from social media to get a deeper meaning and perspective on my walk with God. I lasted fifty two days. It was a mind cleanser. Then I fasted for three days only on water and on the third day when I got in my car to go to work the thought of the beatitudes flooded my mind. So, when we seek Jesus, these are the groups we are to seek out. I will be going more in depth about them but I want to share them with you now.

Matthew 5:3-12

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theres is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for the will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Each group has a unique element that attracts others that are seeking to heal and help others reach that spiritual goal. Each group brings clarity, peace, strength and courage. The Holy Spirit power lifts us to keep traveling the path and the journey to lift others up that have been trampled in this life.
Begin with an introspection within yourself. This means to personally examine your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This is a self-help tool to help you understand yourself better. It is a process that involves looking inward at the way you think and feel about different topics or ideas, and how you perceive other people. As we move through different valleys in our lives we have to learn to focus and refocus our minds to bring us in unity and in line with what Jesus calls us to. Our emotions tend to override our actions sometimes and it gets the better of us in bad situations. We must decide how we will cope and react to certain tragedies or injustices in this world. Read through each one and let them soak in. Practice different situations you may face and how you would react. Ponder how these groups or Jesus would react. Notice the actions and reactions and just let them flow away.
You are called to move through these situations because they are not your home. God is your home. His love is your home. Focus on that. There will always be people who prey on the meek or weaker ones that cause catastrophic destruction of the mind or body. It’s God that commands us to stand strong, calm and kind. That doesn’t mean we are to be a doormat. According to Jesus, when he told his disciples he was sending them out like sheep among wolves, they were called to be shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Know every angle the enemy wants to stop you through other people, but compassionate to everyone. Be ruled and lead by God, not Satan or man. Keep seeking guys!!!
